As Director of the Documentation Center for Wildlife Conservation, I welcome you to the DCSP home page. It is important to us to inform you about all aspects of species protection under CITES. On 1/2/1989, Time magazine ran a front-page headline, "Planet of the Year, Endangered Earth," stating that species depletion is actually humanity's greatest problem.

Effective species protection can only work if maximum nature protection is guaranteed. Species protection requires environmental protection and biotope protection, animal protection and plant protection are always part of it. Efficient species protection is therefore the best human protection. Biodiversity is the guarantee for a possible survival of mankind. Nobody needs to protect nature, only man has to protect himself from himself if he wants to survive. Nature has every arbitrary time to start over again, even without humans.
